Valentine’s Day Decorations
Happy almost Valentine’s Day! I normally do not decorate for Valentine’s Day, but this year I decided to go for it. Not wanting to spend a lot of money on Valentine’s Day decorations, I found everything I needed at Walmart and The Dollar Tree for less than $15. I love decorating with pink and red, so I decided to stick with traditional Valentine’s colors.
I chose to decorate our dining area since we spend a lot of time in there. Also, that is where I do my Facebook Lives and it makes a nice backdrop. The first thing I made was a heart banner using the red, white, and pink doilies I purchased. Then, I weaved some string that I purchased throughout all of the heart doilies and taped it to the canvas art that I have sitting on my buffet table. I love the pop of color that it adds.
There are glass jars that sit on our buffet that I love to fill with different holiday and seasonal items. For Valentine’s, I bought some red shredded paper and heart picks to add a pop of color. You could also use red and white pom moms or even the candy conversation hearts.
The final touch was so simple, but at the same time so cute. I had a couple of heart picks left over, so I broke off the sticks to make them shorter and then stuck them into a pot of faux greenery that I already had. Pretty and simple touches can make a big impact.
Simple and inexpensive Valentine’s Day decorations make me so happy. This is one holiday I do not want to spend a lot of time or money on. I also enjoy being crafty and creative every now and again. Happy Valentine’s Day and happy decorating!
