Hello Heather Loves Home! My name is Morgan and the beautiful and creative woman you all know as Heather, I know as Momma! I moved into my apartment a little over a year ago and I have been spending my time working to make it a comfortable and cozy space. I definitely follow in my mom’s footsteps as a lover of home decor. I was thrilled when she asked me to be a guest on her blog! I rent a small one bedroom apartment that does not have a lot of storage space, so I am very creative and strategic when it comes to organizing and keeping my space functional, clutter free, and pretty! One of the ways I accomplish these goals is by adding trays to a space. Let me show you simple ways to style a tray.
Because I don’t have a lot of storage space, I need to keep a lot of things sitting out on my counters and tables which can quickly lead to a cluttered space. My favorite way to avoid this issue is by finding some cute and simple jars to hold things like cereal, popcorn, candies, sugar, coffee, and other things I use every day, but would rather not take up the little cabinet space that I have. Then I will find cute accessories and I will organize it neatly in a cute tray. It ties everything together nicely and leaves the area looking neat and clean! Plus, when you rent an older apartment like I do, the counter tops aren’t always the best looking so I am always on the lookout for ways to spice them up!
This tray in my kitchen I thrifted and the jars came in a set from amazon for only $20! Placed together with a candle and some plant stems in a mason jar it was exactly what I needed for my kitchen counter!
This tray and the glass jars came from Hobby Lobby and turned out to be perfect for my coffee bar! I have my loose coffee, K-Cups, Stevia, and vanilla syrup all easily accessible and the whole set up cost me $30!
Moving on to my living room, I knew when I moved in and purchased this coffee table that I wanted to keep it clean and simple, so there would always be room for snacks, drinks, and games when having company. I purchased this simple glass try from Target along with the plant. I think having my plant and candle placed in this tray makes the setup look so much nicer than if I had them sitting freely on the table!
My favorite thing about trays is that they come in all shapes, sizes, colors, textures, and you can pretty much make one out of any flat object! This wood slice I have in my bathroom was actually found in the kitchen section at TJMaxx, it was meant to be a mini cutting board but when I saw it I knew it would be perfect for my soap dispenser. I love that it adds some height to my counter and there is just enough room for my soap and a cute little succulent!
This tray I also thrifted and thought it added a nice pop of texture to this area! This is another example of simple ways to style a tray.
I hope this post has given you some great ideas on simple ways to style a tray. Thanks again to my mom for inviting me to be a guest on her blog. Make sure you come back and check out her socials for more ideas and inspiration!
