• Simple Christmas Kitchen Decor

The kitchen is the heart of the home; especially, at Christmas. There is always a lot of hustle and bustle in the kitchen with all of the baking, cooking, and entertaining. That is why I like to keep my Christmas decor simple by adding a few festive touches around the room.

    simple Christmas kitchen decor

I usually keep my normal decor out and about through the kitchen and then decorate around it. All of the decor I am currently using is the same decor I have been using for the last several years. It is the perfect simple kitchen Christmas decor.

    simple Christmas kitchen decor

The  hood over the stove is my favorite thing to decorate in the kitchen. My sister-in-law made the wreath a couple of years ago and it always has a place front and center. Decorating with pretty greenery is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas and I hope to do more of it in the future. The Merry sign is from Home Goods and I love the pop of gold against the white.

    simple Christas kitchen decor

A Christmas kitchen isn’t complete without a Christmas coffee bar! I spend a lot of time in this area of my kitchen, so I want it to be pretty and festive. I use the ornament cookie jar to hold my coffee pods, which is really convenient. And, what about the snowman mugs? Those came from Dollar Tree and they are the cutest! Coffee tastes better when you drink if from a cute mug!

    simple Christmas kitchen decor

My kitchen island got glammed up a bit with a pretty vase and some pretty Christmas floral stems. This is budget decor at its finest because I already had the vase and the stems came from Dollar Tree. It really does make a big impact though.

    simple Christmas kitchen decor

And of course my favorite movie has to get some love in the kitchen! This adds a fun touch and keeps the decor from feeling to formal and fussy. Plus, I had to throw in my favorite Christmas mug that I love to drink my morning coffee from.

There you have it, my simple Christmas kitchen decor. I hope you enjoyed the tour and this inspired you to decorate your kitchen for Christmas. Remember, it doesn’t have to be expensive, or complicated. Just decorate with what you love!

  • Elegant And Festive Christmas Table

I know I say this a lot, but this is my favorite Christmas table I have ever done! I knew I wanted the table to be a little more elegant than the rest of the house, but I wanted it to be festive at the same time. One of my favorite things about Christmas is bright and cheerful Christmas decor; however, sometimes I like for my decor to have an elegant touch as well. Here is my version of an elegant and festive Christmas table!

white table with cream table runner

Here is my naked table except for the new table runner I found at Walmart. It is a creamy neutral, so it can be used year round, but I love the texture that it adds. Plus, it keeps the table from feeling too formal.

white table with runner and black ribbon

This black ribbon is also from Walmart. I am a big fan of using small amounts of black even when decorating for Christmas. I put a strip right down the center of the runner and love the mix of casual texture with a dressier ribbon.

    Christmas stems and florals

These floral stems are from Hobby Lobby and when I saw them I knew I wanted to incorporate them into my table centerpiece. In the past, I have used a lot of what I already had, but this year I decided to change up the florals a bit. I am so glad I did!

    table with runner and centerpiece

The wood piece with the bottles came from Kirklands several years ago and I have used it every Christmas. This part is so much fun and it’s nice to let the creative juices flow. There is no perfect or right way to arrange the floral stems. It is all about what looks good to your eye, so just have fun!

    peace Christmas ornament

One unexpected thing I added to the centerpiece were ornaments that I found at Walmart. They are so pretty and add a little something extra. There are three ornaments, so I tied them to three of the bottles.

    Christmas table centerpiece

And here you have it! I think it came together so nicely. I love the mix of gold and red and the pretty script on the ornaments.

    Christmas table decor

I used gold, silver, and white ornaments as a filler in the wood piece. I have never been one who likes to use things that go perfectly together. I like mixing old and new with casual and elegant.

    Christmas table decor

Christmas trees are my favorite Christmas decor, so I had to incorporate them into my table decor. These came from Walmart and they are the perfect height for the table. I also placed each one on a mirror to help reflect light and add to the elegance of the table.

    christmas decor

On Christmas Eve my family is going to gather around this table to eat dinner, laugh, and play games. I hope they look at this centerpiece and it brings them joy! I also hope that it inspires you and brings you joy!

  • Red And White Christmas Tree

This is the first time I have ever written a blog post about our Christmas tree, so it is long overdue. Our tree has pretty much looked the same for the past few years and I am changing it up next year, so I thought this would be a good time to give you an up close and personal look at it.  We have a red and white Christmas tree because I like traditional Christmas colors. Plus, I think the red and white are so festive!

    red and white Christmas tree

Most of the Christmas decor in our home is red and white, so the tree fits right in! We also use some black, silver, and gold to mix it up a bit. We’ve had our tree for several years and I really like it, but I would like something a little taller in our great room and I am even considering do a flocked tree next year.

red and white Christmas tree decor

I absolutely love this ornament! It is by far my favorite because this is what Christmas is all about. It hangs front and center on our tree as a constant reminder. This is such a busy time of year and when I lose sight of what matters, I just look at this ornament and it gets me in the right frame of mind for the season!

    red and white Christmas tree

A lot of my ornaments are from Walmart and the Christmas tree skit is from Walmart as well. It is soft and has a great texture and adds another pop of red and white. As you can see, I even wrap the gifts in red and white paper!

    red and white Christmas tree

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. This is another favorite ornament of mine. I believe it also came from Walmart. It is so pretty and is another great reminder to slow down and enjoy the little moments during the holiday season.

    red and white Christmas tree

Red, white, silver, and gold look so pretty against the lights as well. I love the tree most at night when it is lit up and the fireplace is going. It creates such a warm and cozy environment.

    red and white Christmas tree

How about that bow Christmas tree topper? It is a black, white, and red plaid and I like how it makes the tree look not so formal. I really enjoy decorating our tree every year and I hope you have enjoyed looking at it. I said this might be the last time I do a red and white Christmas tree, but who knows, maybe I will do it again next year!

  • Classic Christmas Sitting Room

I am a big fan of classic Christmas decor. I love the reds and the whites and the greenery. When you put those three things together it feels so cozy. It reminds me of exactly what Christmas should be. When I decorate our sitting room, it is important to me for it to feel cozy and inviting. It is the room right off the kitchen where friends and family gather; a classic Christmas sitting room.

    christmas greenery

The greenery with the red berries came from Hobby Lobby and I placed them in a vase I already had. This is the same vase I used with my fall decor, so it was easy to switch out the stems. I also used the pinecones with my fall decor and decided to keep them out through Christmas.

    classic Christmas sitting room

One of my favorite things in our sitting area are the small windows. Every year I hang a wreath on them and this year I added the banner that says merry and bright.

    classic Christmas sitting area

Last year, we put our tree in this area, but this year we opted to put it in the great room. I miss having a tree over here and will probably get a small one for next year.

    classic Christmas sitting room

I even added some Christmas cheer to our desk using a vase I already had, some berry stems, and vase filler. Small, simple touches like this can make a big impact.

    classic Christmas sitting room

And of course, I couldn’t forget my favorite Santa Llama pillow. I found it at Marshall’s last year and thought it was adorable. All of these traditional items look nice together and really add to the classic Christmas feel.

    classic Christmas sitting room

This room is always a favorite of mine to decorate; especially, during the holidays. It is a bright and cheerful spot to sit and relax with a cup of coffee, or to sit at the desk and work. It definitely looks like a classic Christmas sitting room. And, I’ve already decided, I definitely putting a tree up in here next year!

  • Foyer Winter Wonderland

I have always decorated for Christmas using a lot of color. I especially like to decorate with traditional colors like red. Last year, I made the foyer look bright and cheerful. This year, I decided to change it up and go a different route. I made our foyer into a winter wonderland.

    foyer winter wonderland

Everything I used I already had. Normally, the white decor would be mixed in with the red decor throughout the house. But this year, I put all of the pretty white together to make a winter wonderland.

    foyer winter wonderland

Collecting Christmas trees that are different shapes, sizes, and colors is something I have been doing for a few years now. I’m really glad I tried using them all together this year. I even mixed a couple of green snow covered trees in. It is different than anything I have done before and I love it!

    foyer winter wonderland

When I see something like this come together it is a reminder to always try new things around the home and when decorating. It’s easy to want to do the same thing every year, but sometimes you’ve gotta mix it up and see how different decor pieces work together.

    winter wonderland foyer

Now I’m ready for a good snow so the outside will match the inside! While I really don’t think I will ever do an all white winter wonderland through our entire home, it was fun turning our foyer into one. The three flocked trees on the log are my favorite. They remind me of being out in the woods on a beautiful snowy day!

Have you turned your home into a white winter wonderland? If you have, I would love to hear about it. You can follow me over on Facebook and Instagram and share photos of your white Christmas decor. In the meantime, stay warm and cozy!

  • Christmas Mantle Decor

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to decorate! Decorating for Christmas brings so much joy with the bright colors and the lights. Do you have a favorite spot in your home you love to decorate for Christmas. For me, it is the mantle and the builtins that surround our fireplace. This year I decked them out in red, white, and black Christmas decor and I think it looks just perfect!

    mantle decorated for Christmas

I decorated the mantle with several items I already had like the flocked greenery, the stocking holders, the red stockings, the beaded garland, and the buffalo check garland. The only new item I added was the cream colored garland and it works so well with everything else.

    Christmas mantle decor

Here is a first look at the builtins. They are always so much fun to decorate and it is fun to be creative with them as well. Again, most of what I used I already had, but I did sprinkle in a couple of new items to change things up a bit. Also, I always move items around from year to year, so it doesn’t look the same.

    builtin decor for Christmas

Mixing patterns, colors, and textures is what makes the mantle and builtins look so festive. Most of the items you see here came from Hobby Lobby, Walmart, and Home Goods. I love the reindeer with the scarf around his neck!

    Christmas decor

Any year round neutral pieces were left on the shelves and then I added in the Christmas decor around them. I also put Christmas scrapbook paper in the frames that sit on the shelves. I love the mix of buffalo check, plaid, and polka dots. And the red Christmas tree is so bright and pretty!

    Christmas mantle decor

If this doesn’t put you in the Christmas spirit, I don’t know what will! Now it is time to sit back and enjoy the season and wait for Santa to come down the chimney!

  • How To Decorate A Stove Hood For Halloween

It’s that time of year to decorate your home with all things spooky for Halloween! It is such a fun season to be creative and have fun with decorating. One of my favorite things to decorate for any holiday is the hood above our stove. This year, I had a great idea on how to decorate a stove hood for Halloween and I cannot wait to share it with you!

    hood above stove

Here is the hood before I decorated it. It’s always fun to start with a blank slate. Usually, I will hang a festive wreath for the holidays, but this year I decided to get a little more creative.

    fake spiders for halloween

I already had an idea of how I wanted to decorate the hood, so I went on a hunt for exactly what I needed. I found these spiders at Walmart for less than two dollars and new the black and gray would be perfect against the white hood.

    spider web halloween decoration

Next, I found this spider web at Dollar Tree and for less than three dollars I had everything I needed! Y’all know I love to decorate on a budget.

    Loctite buddy

This mounting putty is my go to for hanging stuff on walls and cabinets when I do not want them to be damaged. I knew it was perfect for this project because you can tear it to whatever size is needed.

    fake spider for halloween

I tore off small pieces of the putty and put them on the spider legs, so they would stick to the hood. There was already a command hook on the hood for me to hang the spider web on.

What do you think? I love how it turned out! It is festive and adds a little bit of spooky to our kitchen. This is a simple project you can do anywhere. It would even be fun to do on a mirror, or front door. This is such a fun time of year to be creative and go all out. I hope this inspired you!

  • Simple DIY Easter Decor

Hey there! We still have six weeks until Easter, but it is not too early to think about Easter decor. One of my favorite places to pick up decor for the holidays is the Dollar Tree. I was in there a few days ago and found these treat sacks and knew right away I could make them into something cute for Easter. Check out my simple DIY Easter decor.

    simple-diy-easter-decor-dollar-tree-1

I found this four pack of burlap treat sacks at Dollar Tree and knew that I could use them as Easter decor instead of treat sacks. I am always on the lookout for inexpensive decor when I am in Dollar Tree. I like to find items that I can use for something other than their intended use.

    dii-easter-decor-treat-sac

This is what the sack looked like when I took it out of the package. Each sack a piece of twine to tie around it once you fill it with goodies. Isn’t it adorable for only twenty-five cents? You absolutely cannot beat the price.

    easy-day-easter-decor-dollar-tree

Since I want to use the treat sack as decor, I chose to stuff it with poly-fil instead of treats. I actually took some from a throw pillow I am not currently using. That makes this craft even cheaper!

    easter-decor

Once the bag is stuffed, you close it up and tie a piece of twine around it. I kept these bags really simple, but you can get creative with them and use ribbon to tie them closed.  You can also glue on a flower, tail, or bowtie to dress them up a bit. This is so simple I don’t even know if you can call it a craft. Lol!

There you have it! Simple DIY Easter decor anyone can do! Always be on the lookout for simple crafts like this. Be sure to check out this post for more Easter decorating ideas.

  • Valentine’s Hot Chocolate Bar

Did you know that January 31 is National Hot Chocolate Day? And of course, there is no better way to celebrate than with a  Valentine’s Hot Chocolate Bar! This time of year is all about chocolate, candy, hearts, and love. And who doesn’t love a delicious cup of hot chocolate? Here is some simple decor from the Dollar Tree that I used to make the hot chocolate bar look just a little more festive.

    valentine-decor-hot-chocolate-bar

I used traditional Valentine’s Day colors, pink red and white, to decorate and make it bright and cheery. Then I used my glass serving dishes, so the candy, cookies, and decorations can be the stars of the show. There is no right or wrong way to do a hot chocolate bar. My family likes marshmallows, whipped cream, and sprinkles and because it is the season of candy, I also served Sixlets, peppermint sticks, and sugar cookies!

    valentine-mug-hot-chocolate-hearts

The follow your heart bin came from the Dollar Tree and it is the perfect size to hold the packets of hot chocolate. And what do you think about the heart mug? It came from Target and then I covered it in heart felt stickers. I love it!

    hot-chocolate-bar-decor

It’s so much fun to get creative and use serving dishes in impractical ways. I used the juice carafe for the marshmallows, so they can be poured right into the mug. I also took the small bucket with the hearts on it and filled it with ice for the whipped cream to sit in and stay cold.

    hot-chocolate-bar-for-valentines

Putting something like this together for your next party or small gathering does not have to be hard, or expensive. Most of these items I already had on hand, or I purchased at the Dollar Tree or Target Dollar Spot. And don’t you love when your food can also serve as decor? I love things that serve more than one purpose!

    hot-chocolate-valentines-mug

Now you can go make your own Valentine’s Hot Chocolate Bar! Pour yourself a cup of hot chocolate, top with marshmallows and whipped cream, and add a peppermint stick. Oh, and don’t forget the sprinkles! Enjoy!

    Christmas-home-tour-foyer

Our foyer is simple, yet so festive. When you walk through the front door it screams Christmas cheer and gives off a laid back vibe.  I think it helps set the tone that we like to have fun during the Christmas holiday!

    dining-room-decorated-for-christmas

The dining room table sits in the center of our home and that is the perfect place for it. You can sit down and enjoy a conversation with someone in the kitchen, great room, or sitting room. I wanted the table to be decorated; however, I wanted to keep it simple and not take up too much space. You’ve gotta have plenty of space for the most important thing, food!

    Christmas-decorated-for-christmas

As I said before, the dining table sits in the center of our home, but the kitchen is the heart of our home. I like to add simple touches to make it feel bright and cheerful.

    Christmas-coffee-bar

And of course, no Christmas kitchen is complete without a coffee and hot chocolate bar. I use the ornament cookie jar to hold my K-cups and how cute are the snowman mugs?! This is definitely my favorite part of the kitchen.

    Christmas sitting rom

Last year, this space was still the dining room, so this is the first time I got to decorate the sitting room for Christmas and I love it! We decided to put the Christmas tree here and it feels so cozy. I love coming in here to sit and relax and take in the sights.
