• DIY Dresser Makeover

There is nothing better than a good before and after. Am I right? I recently moved a dresser that has been in my family for many years into my office. The dresser originally belonged to my granny and pawpaw. Then I used it in my bedroom when I was a little girl. After that, my aunt used it in her main home and then in her lake home. Finally, my cousin used it for a while and now it has made its way back to me. My daughter used it in her room for a bit, but it wasn’t really her style, so I moved it into my office to use for storage. It had always been white, but I decided I wanted to do a DIY dresser makeover using some paint and a fun color!

As I said before, the dresser has always been white and I decided it was time to paint it a fun color. The walls in my office are white and the other wood furniture in my office is also white. That’s a lot of white for someone who loves color. Right now I am loving the color green and so after pondering over lots of paint samples, I finally decided on the perfect shade of green.

Let me introduce you to Privilege Green from Sherwin Williams. Isn’t it pretty? I love the shade and the warmth it brings to an all white room. I used the original hardware and gave it a fresh coat of gold spray paint. I am so pleased with how the gold and green look together.

I think my favorite part of this makeover is the black and white floral drawer liners! They came from Dollar Tree and I was able to do the entire dresser for only three dollars. I love the way the black and white looks with the green.

Never underestimate the power of paint. If you are looking to make a change, or just brighten up a room, paint is inexpensive and will do the trick. I feel like this piece has come back to life! What do you think?
